The Australian share market stayed closed on Monday after a technical outage caused issues with share prices soon after opening.
Indexes jumped at the open, looking like it would be a strong day ahead, before trading paused unexpectedly at 10.24am.
The market was frozen for more than four hours as the ASX investigated the issue. The trading day was almost complete by the time the ASX advised the market that the outage was caused by a software issue with "combination trading" - where the trading of multiple securities in a single order - was creating inaccurate market data.
Trading was ultimately called off for the day at 3pm.
The ASX advised that the issue will be resolved overnight with the market re-opening at 10am, Tuesday 17 November.
